Hogarths Engineering started as a simple engineering operation founded by the Hogarth family in 1895. It has taken various shapes and forms over the years, with shareholding shifting over the 12 decades. Today, Hogarths Engineering is a division of CIH Industries (Pvt) Ltd and one of Zimbabwe’s largest and most well-known steel contractors.
With more than 125 years of experience in fabricating and erecting structural steelwork, piping and platework, our services range from design to detailing, machining, fabrication, corrosion protection and site installation.
We believe it is our client-centric approach and proven track record on projects of all sizes that underpin our success. We pride ourselves on delivering quality solutions that meet each client’s needs. To do this, we rely on our team of in-house specialists, our long-standing industry partnerships and relationships, and our experience in and understanding of the sub-Saharan operating environment.

Hogarths Engineering also has a mobile workforce and a fleet of nine mobile cranes that we can deploy for on-site erections and installations as required.

Sanjay Patel
Non - Executive Director
With a distinguished career spanning multiple sectors and an impeccable reputation amongst institutions and banking regulators, Sanjay Patel serves as CIH (Pvt) Ltd’s Director, actively formulating and implementing the Group’s strategy; fundraising for the Group and proactively identifying niches, market opportunities and alliances for Group products. Over three decades, Sanjay has held key positions including Practice Senior Manager for Deloitte Zimbabwe, Audit Committee Member and Non-Executive Director for a number of Zimbabwe’s premier insurance entities and Board Member and principal developer of Zympay, and developed extensive expertise in corporate business setup and management; development & management of structured finance solutions; the evaluation of merger and acquisition opportunities to enhance value and speed of success and the development of robust and effective financial controls and reporting. As a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Zimbabwe, Sanjay embodies a steadfast dedication to fostering corporate excellence and strategic growth within the CIH ecosystem.
Jaydev Vaghmaria
Financial Director
For more than 2 decades Jaydev Vaghmaria has served as CIH (Pvt) Ltd.’s Financial Director, spearheading the group’s financial strategy to generate shareholder wealth and ensure the achievement of Group objectives.
A Chartered Accountant by profession, Jaydev has held key positions at leading organizations including Partner at (now) E&Y, Consultant at Deloitte & Touche and Financial Director at the listed Radar Holdings.
With expertise encompassing strategic planning, policy formulation, and oversight of financial performance, including crucial decisions on acquisitions and capital management, Jaydev brings invaluable financial stewardship to the CIH Group and his leadership has been instrumental in navigating complex financial landscapes and implementing robust governance frameworks.
Denzil Jerome Marsh
Chairman of the Board
With a career spanning more than four decades and extensive expertise in strategic financial planning and administration at Board level, Denzil J. Marsh’s leadership has been pivotal in guiding organisations across the manufacturing, commercial and medical industries.
As Chairman of the Board for CIH Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, Denzil is primarily responsible for strategic and executive functions comprising of all aspects of financial and administration controls, liaising with local and foreign financial institutions, legal professionals, analysts and consultants; overseeing acquisition opportunities, reviewing and presenting the group’s financial performance to the board and advising the board on financial matters.
With a solid academic foundation which includes B Compt and B Compt Honors from the University of South Africa and professional qualifications including being both a Member and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe, Denzil combines academic rigor with practical leadership, driving sustainable growth and financial management of the CIH Group.
