This project was the second major mine development for ZIMPLATS at their Ngezi Portal 2 Mine Site. It consisted of a tip, fed by the existing decline conveyor, a ROM bin, a crushing station, and three conveyors transferring and discharging onto the existing covered stockpile area conveyor installed by Hogarths in 2001.
Hogarths was responsible for the fabrication and installation of steelwork, platework, and the installation of free-issue mechanicals.
All steelwork and platework were fabricated, painted, and delivered from Hogarths’ Bulawayo workshops.
As no on-site facilities were available, Hogarths had to set up all accommodation, messing, and other on-site facilities in a newly allocated contractors’ camp area.
