Structural steel fabrication
Hogarths manufactures medium to heavy structural steel for projects of all sizes for a range of industries, throughout Zimbabwe and beyond. Our qualified tradespeople are structural steel fabrication and erection experts. We offer a comprehensive structural steel service, from design to fabrication and installation.
Hogarths has the capacity to carry out maintenance projects, site inspections, and remedial work. We also fabricate stainless steel platework, piping and ducting.
All our products are manufactured to the relevant standards and project specifications, and we work alongside clients to ensure our team meets their specific requirements.
Our manufacturing facility is located in Bulawayo and our workshops are fully equipped with rolls, guillotines, press breaks, welding equipment and a state-of-the-art plasma cutter. We also offer in-house sandblasting, painting and corrosion protection.
Over the past eight years alone, we have erected, fabricated and installed approximately 5000 tonnes of steelwork, platework and mechanical equipment (above ground and underground) for one of Zimbabwe’s largest platinum mines.
Hogarths holds the record for the fabrication and erection of the tallest un-guyed steel mast in the country.
Corrosion protection
Steelwork, Platework and Pipework
Hogarths is Zimbabwe’s leading structural, mechanical, platework and piping (SMPP) contractor.
We fabricate medium to heavy steelwork, pipework and platework, relying on our engineering expertise and vast industry experience.
We are the only contractor in the SADC region (outside of South Africa) that specialises in the design and manufacturing of Electrode Casings (sometimes referred to as a mantle), which is used to make a self-baking electrode that is consumed in a reducing arc furnace.
MECHANICAL INSTALLATION
Hogarths has experience in the installation of an exhaustive range of mechanical equipment, from conveyor pulleys to crushers, grizzlys, apron feeders, screens, mills, belting and feeders, conveyor mechanicals among others.
We embrace a challenge and relish the opportunity to put our engineering brains to the test. For example, in 2014, we completed the second-ever global fabrication and installation of an ore pass underground crushing and screening plant.

Hot and Cold Commissioning
Commissioning is a critical phase of any project. Hogarths’ team has extensive experience in hot & cold commissioning for mining and related industries. Generally, under the control of the client’s commissioning team, we perform all the necessary tests to ensure all equipment and components have been installed correctly and perform as required in operation.
On-Site Installation
Hogarths has the necessary skills and experience to provide a complete installation and assembly solution. We prepare all components for transportation, conduct site safety audits and carry out installation with complete project management throughout. Our teams’ site qualifications include working in confined spaces and working at heights, always under strict SHEQ conditions.
